sweep the tomb day
went to lim chu kang to sweep the tomb today… together with my family and relatives.. it’s really a very sweet thing to do stuffs together as a family.. but what’s really new this year is that my autny and my little cousin yee joined us for this mini occassion..
hmm.. time flies.. it’s been 1 year since we last went to visit my late grand father and my 1st granny.. hee.. and the protocol remains the same year after year.. just that my granny can longer join us due to her age and her inconvenience in mobility…
but what i think really amuses me is my little cousins.. they seem too innocent to understand things.. well. not only them.. neither do i.. haha.. they’ll ask funny questions at the cemetery like.. how do my late grandfather and my receive the money and the clothes we burn to them? who’s going to deliver it to them?
and my aunty patiently explains things to them that their world is different from ours..
"how different?"
that’s what my little cousins would ask.. and more interestingly , my autny and uncle lost patience with them (sort of).. and began to say nonsensical answers just to condescend to their mentality…
"aiyah.. got DHL delivery to send money to 公公 & 大婆婆 .."
and the list of questions just go on…
the way the kids handle the joss-sticks are like some new play things to them.. well..
after what’s really tiring came the sumptous dinner.. thursday ’s 清明节。。
